Reforestation: more than 6,000 seedlings on 14 hectares

As part of its reforestation campaign, the Togo Baptist Convention has mobilized communities to fight deforestation and care for creation. Together, more than 6,000 seedlings have been planted over a total area of 14 hectares. "It is important to involve communities as much as possible in their own initiatives": this is the main lesson learned from the campaign. A real commitment is growing among the members of the communities involved to slow the advance of the desert and fight climate change. The low rainfall of 2024 put the young plantations to the test. The TBC therefore plans to provide water support during dry spells, identify new sites and continue caring for the orchards. Follow-up visits to the orchards took place in May 2025: see the photos in the gallery.
